Great Steam Train Excursions

One of the remaining mainline-certified lovingly restored monster steam engines, JA1275 will be a special guest in the Bay of Plenty throughout the Kiwi Festival 2010.

It makes a grand entrance to the Bay of Plenty on Saturday 27 February bringing 7 carriages full of passengers on a rare Auckland to Tauranga excursion.

Throughout the Kiwi Festival week there will be opportunities for everyone to experience the romance of rail. The week concludes on Sunday 7 March with a fascinating return to Auckland journey through the Kaimai tunnel alongside the mighty Waikato River, across the rolling green farmlands and into Auckland central.
